When we first approached the owners of this site in central Aston Clinton it was a functioning dairy and not immediately available for development.
Over the following year the family’s circumstances changed and they decided that the time was right for a comprehensive redevelopment. They told us that they selected Laxton Properties as their preferred developer because of our local experience, planning knowledge and the high quality of homes that we had already built within the village.
Winning community support through collaboration
At that time there was a lot of proposed development within Aston Clinton and therefore opposition to any further projects coming forward. However, through collaborative engagement and public consultation we secured the support of the Parish Council, in particular through our emphasis on the benefits that development would provide; in this case that included parking for the church, outdoor space for the village hall and a zebra crossing that the village community had sought for several years.
