Laxton Properties is an independent property development company run by Chartered Surveyors Giles Holder and Ed Whetham. Focused on Quality, Sustainability and Legacy we undertake small and medium scale developments within the northern Home Counties, with a particular focus on Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Oxfordshire.

Who we are
Laxton Properties was established in 2008 and is run by Giles Holder and Ed Whetham, both of whom are Chartered Surveyors. The company is based in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire.
We have a small team of colleagues who each bring different skills to the design and delivery of development projects. We also work repeatedly with a trusted group of local sub-contractors who have grown alongside us and who care as we do about the quality of the homes that we provide.
In addition to their professional qualifications Giles studied Engineering at Bristol University and Ed studied Geography at Oxford University. Both are married with young families and have strong links to the area where the business is based. We believe that this local focus, combined with a professional attitude and experience sets Laxton Properties apart as a local developer of real substance.

We engage closely with local stakeholders and combine the knowledge of our in house planning professionals with top class local consultants to work successfully through the planning process.

As a bespoke developer, we pour heart and soul into the design and arrangement of homes on each project. Great care is in involved in studying every detail as we look to ensure that each development complements its setting and provides attractive, comfortable and well-arranged homes.

We act as principle contractor, undertaking the construction ourselves in order to ensure the quality of our homes. With permanently employed Site Management we work with a small and trusted group of local sub-contractors to deliver homes of a consistently high quality.

As well as Laxton Properties, Giles and Ed are directors of Horstonbridge Development Management, which provides Development Management and Project Management services for clients, typically on larger scale and complex development projects.
